I have always loved taking pictures of my babies and consider myself okay at it. I just love getting that perfect shot but as I am sure you all know, that perfect shot can sometimes be hard to capture.Capturing my babies as they grow is extremely important to me so when I had the chance to review How To Photograph Your Baby DVD, I was thrilled!
I was not sure what I would learn but anything to capture those first moments with my son would be great!
Unfortunately, I have a Canon Digital Rebel which is fantastic for taking pictures but it has been broken since last November so I am dealing with a point and shoot. I do not like Point and Shoots because of the delay and lack of speed. I have really struggled with getting the greatest shots of my kids so I was curious to see if Nick Kelsh could help me.
When I first began the video, Nick Kelsh struck me as a laid back, very down to earth man. He isn't always truthful in his DVD: every baby is the cutest baby he has ever seen and I happen to know that my babies are the cutest and he has never seen them!
What I love about Mr. Kelsh is that he doesn't try to speak to the professional photographer, he is talking to the average everyday parent who just wants some fun, memorable pictures. One of the first things he talks about is the settings on your camera.
I will be honest, I had not even touched the settings on this point and shoot camera. No wonder I was frustrated. I adjusted the settings to what he recommended, turned off my flash, and immediately I began to get some of the results I was looking for. I still get some blurriness because the shutter speed is so slow but it is a lot better than when I first began.
Here are some before and after shots of my son using Mr. Kelsh's advice from How To Photograph Your Baby DVD. (I did not edit these shots on purpose so that you can see the difference.)
As you can see from the two pictures, there is a huge difference in the way the picture looks and that is with only ONE change! If you put into practice everything that Mr. Kelsh shows you - you can some beautiful keepsake pictures!
I highly recommend this DVD to anyone - not just to someone with babies. You can use this to photograph your dog, your entire family, your house, or even your backyard. This DVD will help in taking picture of any kind! I love this DVD and think it would make a great baby shower gift, wedding gift, Christmas gift, birthday gift - you name it!
You can purchase this DVD from howtophotographyourbaby.com for $24.95. This 50 minute video is really worth the investment!
